picking up wherever i left off at: handbagmemoirs. is it normal to get sick of things like this as often as i do? i'll learn eventually, and try not to make this new one all about lost, and how lost i am in lost because i've only seen season one so far, but i can't make any promises. i am addicted.

i keep telling myself i should write more in this thing, but then i just get distracted, or write in a different one. i don't know what it is, but i just finished reading a million little pieces by james frey and i do know that i am never getting into drinking or drugs after the pictures that book painted. unbelievable, but it wasn't totally heavy... just the epilogue. i keep thinking, wow, fifteen percent. only fifteen percent. thirteen out of sixteen -- gone. if you've read the book, you'll understand this. if you haven't, try.
currently i'm trying to get through adverbs as a pick-me-upper. what else, what else.
zach braff is a jump, little children fan! and last night arlene and i watched travis pastrana make history!
my wisdom teeth -- or lack thereof -- are fine. from morning on (aaron's band) play their first show i think on monday night. hahaha, how precious, right? i've never even heard them play, so i'm excited. to think hank and will went from cornbread/caaaawnbread to this! and then there's norma jean this friday and the films the saturday after. plans, plans, plans. busy, busy, busy! well, sort of. been spending almost every day this week watching either the office season 1 dvd or shark week or what not to wear or, most recently, the x games. then a little adult swim in-between. can you believe mission hill was replaced by pee-wee's playhouse? i'm mad at that!
oh, and i designed a shirt for goodnight moon. they got them in a few days ago and reserved a youth large just for me; i wonder how they all turned out? ryan said "awesome!" but he's just nice like that, haha. i'm really anxious/excited/proud.
and school is in a week. oy.

arlene and i went down the folly pier and saw loads of jellyfish just beneath the water's surface. i wish i'd had my camera. pretty gnarly, brah. friggin' tubular, man. the surf was epic that day. (not! but that sure didn't stop them from heading out into those stinger-infested waters anyway.)

had a dream a bomb went off right outside our school gym while we were still inside it. coach chalus and these other kids were by the windows watching something outside unfold when suddenly he pushes off from the windowledge and says, "EVERYBODY RUN! THERE'S A BOMB!" and for some reason i'm the only one who listens, and apparently this is what i get for watching red eye because the explosion was a lot like the one in the hotel. it wasn't a scary dream -- actually, it was really sort of awesome. my dream went all slow-mo, just like in the movies!

today was incredibly beautiful. sunny, and breezy, and chock-full of white clouds.
ryann's mom wanted to treat her and me to lunch downtown; we ate at the fleet landing by the water and watched a few dolphins doing some laps by the marsh. well, really we only saw their fins and their tails, but still. dolphins!!
i can't even count the number of times ryann and i got lost trying to get from exchange factor back to the interstate. at one point we ended up in hanahan because we're east/west retarded, and then we almost ended up on that bridge by the paper mill, but it was an adventure and we listened to "snails" by the format the whole way, so it wasn't at all bad. i think it was incredibly lucky we were able to laugh at it the whole time together; i think had either of us been alone, we'd be sobbing wrecks behind the wheel. and how weird would that be!
speaking of, guys are weird and very, very ridiculous. especially cute ones on bikes. i mean, how awkward is it to slow -- and i mean slow -- to a stop in front of two chatterboxing girls just to smile was we walk by? hahahaha, i was trying so hard not to burst out laughing, i didn't think people in real life actually did that sort of thing. kind of like how last night while we were walking up meeting, we all crossed under a low-hanging tree and one of its branches knocked my beanie clear off my head. i seriously thought that kind of stuff only happened in the movies! i couldn't stop laughing. both times, actually.
man, i love life. :)
my mission for the rest of the day: get arlene to pick up the jump, little children dockstreet theatre dvd from millennium since i'd put it on hold earlier this afternoon. the guy spelled my name "phelipe." i guess that's all right, haha.

| definitely not watching the omen today. (or ever.) |

 bob klaus cousteau ii.
so, the folly felder film festival was interesting. we didn't stay the entire time because while the movies were free, the food and drinks certainly weren't, and halfway through ryann, katie, and i were definitely craving some taco bell. the shorts we did see were pretty cool though, and we were probably some of the youngest people there, save for a random eight-year-old here or there. but i liked it! it was a nice change from what we normally do, like go downtown to eat. which we did at paolo's afterward, where the paolo was working yet again, and even though ryann was completely stoked for her first-time experience, she didn't order anything. booooooooo!
then, we went to aroma's to watch steve and be supportive of him. everyone was talking or watching that fresh meat road rules show at the bar, but it was really okay; apparently, columbia, epic, and a few other record companies are meeting with his manager vance in new york? unbelievable!
to top it all off, we tailed it back over to katie's to watch garden state. lovely. and i especially love cocoa puffs because they turn your milk chocolatey.

bob klaus cousteau ii actually eats! i saw him! i guess the stress of attempting suicide last week has finally left him. i sure hope he doesn't explode. cleaning out his vase would be pretty disgusting.
tonight i'm going to folly to attend a spoleto film/photography festival! for free! finally, something to do other than eat, eat, eat. even if we are probably/maybe/thinking about going to kaminsky's afterward. also, if i end up having two kids, one boy and one girl, i am definitely naming them charlie and lola. that show has to be the freaking cutest thing i've ever seen! arlene, why couldn't you have been a boy?

[04 Jun 2006|09:20am] |
yesterday i took the grand sats and basically starved the whole time. didn't even get to eat that salami sandwich mom had prepared for me until after, because no one else brought food and i didn't want to sit in the hall by myself and eat! my brain is still mush, but at least i got to see people i don't get to see all that often! will and jeremy shaved their heads. totally flipped, but now i'm thinking if you can't beat 'em, why not join 'em? we could go commit some hate crimez.
watched the break-up last night with arlene and cousin lees. surprisingly good and realistic! who knew vince vaughn could be sorta cute? and that there would be so many boys in the theater? weird.
made it thiiiiiiis close to cupcake, but the sister and the cousin were easily distracted by windows of shoes and charming little boutique shops, so hopefully another day we can git 'er done. i did stray away from the usual kiwi cooler (is that what it's called?) and tried a new drink at port city java -- a mocha freeze -- making the day downtown sorta productive. hello, new favorite!
oh yeah, and friday i cooked my first meal! macaroni and cheese.

summer pretty much means living downtown and sweating and getting fat. i don't know anyone that loves ice cream as much as arlene and i do!
the paolo was totally working when kate and ashleigh and i bought gelato. he looks a lot like this:
(because that is really him) and had a real thick italian accent that i couldn't quite decipher. i just smiled and nodded "yeah" when he asked me a question, like if i'd gotten my change, or a waffle pillar on my cone. which i didn't, but i didn't know that, see. what an airhead.
next on the summer to-do list:
[ ] go to cupcake! [x] take my sats. (big whoop.) [ ] yearbook camp -- hooray photography workshops! [x] wash my hair. [ ] mobilize (permit, etc.) [ ] wuthering heights. [ ] macbeth. [ ] jude the obscure. ... gosh, ap english will be so much fun! [ ] get my crocodile teeth pulled. [ ] shop! (school clothes and things.) [ ] warped stuff: west ashley. [ ] warped stuff: folly beach. [ ] warped tour! [ ] visit that children's museum. [ ] actually make this journal live.
trashy reality tv is fun!
